About Our Certified Professional Negotiator ™ Certification
Negotiation is a nebulous concept. It is a process which many people engage
in throughout their personal and professional lives, often without realizing
they are negotiating: In many ways, life is a negotiation.
The CPN teaches participants a proven system to understanding not only what a
negotiation is in practice, but to understand and differentiate between different
approaches to negotiations depending on the particular situation. Built around
AASCB (top 15% academic school of business accreditation) approved courses in
negotiations, Strategic Learning Alliance methodology for measured performance,
and best practices of using system-approaches to negotiations, participants in
the CPN will:
-
Demonstrate their ability to recognize negotiations opportunities;
-
Recognize an understand competing negotiations strategies;
-
Learn to use a process to over-come objections and move parties toward
"win-win" solutions;
-
Learn to use a holistic system with often complex, ambiguous, and unclear
factors to apply a consistent and regular process to negotiations.
The CPN body of knowledge is crafted by input from Regional Board of Advisors
and Blue Ribbon Volunteer Committees. These two group membership are required
to provide applied demonstrated capabilities by being SHRM certified professionals.
Or, they are to meet the requirements to serve as faculty for a top-rated (AASCB)
academic institution (top 15% national school of business faculty). The CPN is a
not-for-profit charitable division of the Strategic Learning Alliance (SLA) which
regulates the exam content, learning curriculum and conferral of this certification
based on applied professional standards and academic accreditation requirements.
