Eligibility
Any individual, regardless of title, compensation, or role can choose to be a
leader. This is not to say that leadership as a professional does not come without
demonstrated effort and commitment to excel in both industry roles and applied
performance.
To be eligible you must:
-
Hold an Industry Certification, SHRM or PMP, and one applied certification
(HRA, CPN, CPC, or others) and have three years of work experience in a
professional role;
-
OR you must hold two applied certifications and five years of professional
work experience;
-
Or, you must complete the Certified Professional Leadership learning series:
-
Three month participation is based on holding either of the above qualifications.
-
Six months if you do not hold two applied certifications, in this case you
will survey coaching, negotiations, and human resources while working toward
your CPL;
-
Nine month program if you hold less than a BA and less than three years of exempt level work experience.
The CPL is credentialed through the
Strategic Learning Alliance
for individuals in supervisory and non-exempt
positions as well as exempt-level professionals seeking to further distinguish
their applied professional experience within specific roles (e.g., SHRM, PMI,
or technical roles).
Individuals will demonstrate their ability to plan, manage, and lead strategic
planning sessions; plan and coach another individual making effective use of
performance and strength based tool; negotiate a team project to ensure alignment
of the mission, roles, and goals, and model top-level executive reporting abilities.
These requirements, tools, and exercises are managed by the approved educational
program provider.
Successful participants can obtain a graduate certificate of learning, academic
credits, and HRCI recertification credits through this provider.
